AN ODE TO A WOMAN

A girl becomes a woman, a woman assumes the motherly role after marriage, the bible described women as help meets. However no man is indispensable; both sexes cannot do without one another except for bestial practices like homosexuality and lesbianism which are against nature. The importance of the girl child cannot be overemphasized. In Africa today there has been a conceived misconception about the girl child. Some even feel sad when they are told that their wives have given birth to a girl. Some persons also believe that males assume more roles than females, while some blocs are strictly silencing the potentialities of women terming them "baby factories" Practically in Africa, a family with males are much rev erred than those without one. It is a generational stamp which has existed up till now. The girl child would be told 'shut up what do you know?' the statistics of female assaults and abuses are rampant ranging from incest and rape to trafficking and the host of others based on the believe that 'females are helpless'. I adhere to this truth ''what a man can do a women can do better" Why? Consider Cooking! We can not do without food, food keeps the body and soul together, women cook better than men, i am not arguing the fact that there are no male cooks, but women do it better. If you want to eat the most delicious meal give it to a woman to cook for you. Do you know that cooking is an inborn trait in women?, every potential woman can cook but not every man. Some of us would say there are some ladies who cannot cook... I am not countering that opinion, the truth is that when those ladies are taught they do it better than their male counterparts. Consider child bearing and rearing... Women are future mothers, no man can conceive a child, no man can give birth to a child but women do it. A man settles the bills, a woman does it also due to the advent of modernity, a woman can also assume the role of a dad when dad is not around but a man would hang out and ask the kids to be in the neighborhood. Child rearing isn't complete without a woman. Consider Mentoring... Every successful man today rose to the ladder of success through a woman, looking at the history of successes such as Dangote, Major. Gen Olusegun Obasanjo, Wale Adenuga, Micheal Faraday, Airbert Einstein, no one would deny the fact that they were reared by women and motivated by women. They would not have climbed to the ladder of success without a pat on their back, a warm embrace, a cleanup of their poo, a peck on their cheek, a warm bath by their mum, a lunch box when going to school, a prayer from their mum, an inspirational and multivational speech from their mum even while climbing successe's ladder. Consider the making of a home... Women are not just home makers but also successful and ambitious career role models. Consider Prof. Dora Akunyili- who revolutionized NAFDAC, Patricia Etteh- The first female speaker in the house of Representatives, Lt. Ransome kuti- the first woman to drive a car in Nigeria, i also love the fact that she was a teacher, Sir Johnson Sirleaf- a president for that matter i.e. The president of liberia, Prof. Rukaayatu- A Professor in Education, Dr. Ngozi Nweala-former world bank president, the minister of the economy in GEJ'S TENURE. The list continues. Women rule the world! Please take care of all ladies and don't treat them anyhow, pet them, encourage them and our world would be full of possibilities.
