There
are lots of creative persons on earth. A billion of them, only a few
are pragmatic. We tend to forget that pragmatism involve theory and
practice, or specifically planning and implementing.
You have to get off your butt. America has practiced pragmatism and they got to where they are today. A dozen of countries have seen that pragmatism is an insanely crazy practice to get to their dreamland.
The problem now lies in the individual. Many of us are fans of procrastination, you won't start living your dreams until you do a feasibility study on the dangers of procrastination. What have you planned to attain in 2015? Are you aware we are already in the eight month? That means we just have 4 months to go. I know this year would be far better for you than all the years you have lived.
You might have conceived attaining a financially free future, having a peaceful relationship and marriage, building your house, meeting the needs of others who lack or achieving any other goal. It starts now!
Nolan Bushnell wrote "the critical ingredient in getting off your butt is doing something" . The world is in dire need of ideas, a lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide about them now. Not tomorrow, not next week, but today. The man or woman who is an achiever has levitated beyond dreaming to doing.
Catherine cook, a co-founder of my year book wrote "if you want to do it, do it now, if you don't you're regretting it". In the world today people are becoming less creative. Back in those days! A presupposition exists, it is about procrastination, it was said that "procrastination is the greatest killer of potentials"
The act of doing involves unleashing the imaginative process into reality while dreaming is act of foreseeing the future without taking any step to realization. When a dream is not gleaned it is invariably an act of "building castles in the sky"
The dramatic wave in successes is tied to procrastination, unfinished projects, and elephant projects. "There is power in starting small". Seeing a project through to the end is a brilliant way of giving yourself a feeling of true achievement and satisfaction. Amidst this setting up elephant projects may ruin your potency; a popular maxim said from time immemorial is "sew your cloth according to the material available"
A feeling of satisfaction comes by starting something. You are like a prism full of your own unique colours that join together to radiate a single beam-you!. It is unhelpful and limiting to assume that you'll whittle it down to availability of resources, start something and you'll be glad you did.
As an achiever or career person what is worst is never trying. It is better you try and fail "the downfall of a man is not the end of his life". If we never try how will we know the outcome? So many people worry more about what will happen if they fail, but they never think of what could happen if they succeed.
Dreaming has to be backed up with a doing act. The Bible reiterates "faith without work is dead" James 2:14-26
Bill gates didn't seem like a shoe-in for success after dropping out of Harvard University and starting his first failed business with Microsoft Co-founder Paul Allen called Traf-O-Data. While this early idea didn't work, Gates later worked creating the global empire know as Microsoft today.
Today Disney rakes in billion from merchandise, movies and theme parks around the world but Walt Disney himself had a bit of a rough start. He was fired by a newspaper editor because he lacked imagination and no good idea. After that Disney started a number of businesses that didn't last long and ended with bankruptcy and failure. He kept plunging ahead however and eventually found a recipe for success that worked.
The list goes on. Often times your disappointments has less to do with your interpretation of what failure means. Rather than dreaming resolve acting or doing.
The good news is that you don't have to look far to start something. There are millions of other people thinking and feeling something similar to what you are. Dealing with your challenge of start up and finding new solutions is your best accelerator as an career person or entrepreneur. It depends on:
1. Planning: what are your plans? You need a plan to attain success. Write the vision, make it plain, that he that readeth it might run.
2. Hard work: it takes hard work to realize your dream, you can't sit and expect success to give you a warm hug, how hardworking are you?, are you ready to start small? You should be!, it is better than waiting for a fat income, do you know if you cannot manage that little amount you earn now, you would spend the fat income you'll earn in the future recklessly? Are you ready to sacrifice the pleasures of masturbation, smoking, drinking, womanising or even talking too much? Are you ready to do odd jobs even while a white collar job doesn't exist? You ask if i mean good for you, yes i do, go get something done and save for the raining day.
3. Service: If you want to be a boss, you have to serve first. Serving enlightens you to know the act of being a manager, how do you react to your boss in office? You have to serve for others to serve you!. I mean be humble because Jealousy is the root of hatred, hatred is the twin brother of pride, evil is the father of the two, downfall is the end of them. I have worked in a farm for years, i have been a shop boy, i have worked as a laundry boy, i have served at occasions, i have taught and i know things would get better for me. How about you?
4. Selflessness: Until you stop chasing money, money would never stop running, when you dont chase money it will begin to chase you, it is same as the formula applied to a lady who doesn't reciprocates your love. Are you ready to do jobs free of charge?, are you ready to play the piano free of charge, are you ready help a lady in need free of charge without sex?, are you ready? Then be selfless!
5. Alertness: Be gentle as a dove and be wise as a serpent. Be sensitive to your environment, the environment you are would charge you up for success or failure, when all you can do is to move with failures, you would not be an exception, but when you follow successful people you'll become a success. "Show me your friend and I'll tell you who you are"
6. Avoidance of Perfectionism: Why would you want to be perfect? Try it out firstly and then if you fail never give up. Quitters never win, winners never quit.
7. The act of Tolerance for your detractors: Many people would distract you and even hinder the attainment of your dreams, tolerate them. Never give up! It is inherent in man to envy someone on the path to success, if you are an example of such, you better change. If you fight against somebody's progress you'll encounter retrogression. Have a new leaf today.
8. Focus: Press on, be like an athlete, don't listen to the cheers of the crowd, keep running the sprint dear, you'll be amazed how you did it finally.
9. Pragmatism: learn to plan and learn to implement. Planning without implementation is a tattle tale or a fable. Take it One step at a time!
10. A Feasibility study: Do your research and know more about what you want to do. That is why companies conduct an In-service-training for their staff regularly to boost their competence and confidence. Know about the rules on what you intend engaging in. You need it like a cup of water when you are thirsty. Read books, check this website often, attend seminars even the ones we'll start soonest, listen to tapes and watch movies which would inspire you and make you an Usain Bolt.
